Hummus Custody

Here’s a song I did at the airport last night after they took away my hummus.

Here’s a new tune. It’s a shameless Flying Lotus fanboy tribute.

Enjoy!

Covers III

From a record by Bernard Fevre, who I inexplicably didn’t realize was one of the founders of Black Devil Disco Club!

Goodbye 20th Century

How far we’ve come…

I have a continuous Boards of Canada loop running in my head.

A Curious Case of Haters

Benjamin Button was clearly the best movie of 08 and of the last few years in my own estimation. So the near universal disdain from critics and all my friends has utterly confused me. In my own presumptuousness I figured everyone would feel the same as me. Now I just look like an overly sentimentalized chump defending the movie (even though the sentimentality was not the point). Argh.

Office Space

Via the Slog, I found this collection of photos by Eric Percher. He used to work in financial services in NYC before becoming a photographer and now he’s got a collection up at The Photographic Center Northwest. Maybe it’s cause I myself am an office drone, but I can’t help feeling peaceful looking at these photos. I’ve always felt a certain serenity looking at city lights, buzzing computer monitors, even the orderly arrangement of office cubicles.

Covers II

Incidentally I’m really into the record itself, upon first listen. Give Roland Bocquet a google. I’m sure you’ll find some tunes.

My Michelle

Bummer.

But while it’s too soon to know just what kind of first lady Mrs. Obama will be, she doubtlessly will be the kind of first lady this country hasn’t seen in decades: the mother of young children.

Barack Obama has portrayed his wife as the family’s “rock” — and told Newsweek magazine she had “veto power” over his decision to run for president.

Aides say publicly she is not interested in shaping policy or reserving a seat for herself at her husband’s decision-making table. She prefers, at least for now, to focus on easing the transition for Malia, 10, and Sasha, 7 — getting them in new schools, settled and comfortable with a new way of life.

I was kinda hoping I could pretend she’s the president.
